Charity contributions direct from IRA

I want to write checks to charities directly from my IRA so they count as Required Minimum Distribution(RMD) but are not taxable.  Fidelity says the tax from they send me will include the entire RMD and somehow I have to tell the IRS that part of that is non taxible.  How does Turbo tax handle this situation?   With the increased standard deduction it seems the way to go.

I have to leave soon so replies to [email address removed] would be good.  Also I've never used this system so not sure how I'll read an online answer.
