Get your taxes done using TurboTax

I'm in the same boat - this is something that TurboTax needs to fix!  Paper filing is not an easy option, since they live in another state - it would be MUCH MORE complicated!! I file my parent's tax returns, and have done so with TurboTax for many years. My dad recently passed away.  Tried to submit my Mom's (married filing jointly) return two times and both times I got the same error message as others about a mismatched AGI or self-select PIN. I have always filed their returns electronically using TurboTax and I verified the AGI is correct. I suspect as others have that what is being passed from Turbo Tax to the federal government (during the eFiling process) is missing the PIN or another field for the deceased taxpayer.  TurboTax never asked for the self-select PIN of the deceased person - just the surviving spouse.  This is very frustrating and needs to be fixed. Just replying that we need to file a paper copy is not acceptable.
