I read the link that supposedly says you can't efile if your spouse died during that tax year. Nice try, but there was NOTHING on that page about deceased spouses.
I did find this link, however, which said there shouldn't be a problem efiling for a deceased taxpayer.

Furthermore, I have read forum posts on this issue, and no one else is having a problem filing a joint return with a deceased spouse as long as the SS# and date of death are correct.
More annoyed by the minute. My return consists of a number of forms, and filing by mail is going to be a pain. And I want my refund sooner than (much) later.
