Get your taxes done using TurboTax
I have lived with my boyfriend for the past 5 years in one household. For the last 3 years I have been unemployed and/or have a gross income of no more than $2000 annually. We have 2 children together. Every year we file tax. The tax payer says that my boyfriend cannot claim me as a dependent at all.
Why is that (Missouri State), is it because they're using the "unmarried parent" part against us?
We just started receiving food stamp in Sept. 2016 also.
If able to file me as dependent, for all those years of losses of being able to file me as dependent, is there a way to file a tax return on those lost years?
