Once I have put ITIN number of my wife in Turbotax. Can I efile it instead to mail it the federal tax return and state tax return? I ask this because in order to get the ITIN number I had to print my federal tax return together with the W7 form and sent them to IRS in Texas and I am not sure if this was only to get the ITIN number or also to request my tax return. Another expert told me that requesting ITIN number is a separate process and I have to resend the federal tax return again.
