So I bought a copy of INTUIT Deluxe TurboTax (I have windows 10, connected via ethernet cable from router to laptop. Got to the end to file both Federal and state and this is the error I received.
"There is an update available for your version of TurboTax. Before you can file electronically, you’ll need to get this update. To do this, go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates. If you’d like to e-file your state return using TurboTax, it will need to be filed along with your federal return. You may also e-file your federal return now, then submit your state return later via TurboTax, by mail, or by visiting your state’s tax website for alternative e-filing options."
I clicked the online updated and said it updated....same error. I then went to the actual website and updated manually today, rebooted my comp, went back into the program, clicked check for updates again, all good then click to file and SAME ERROR. Called tech support at [8 0 0 4 4 6 8 8 4 8] and a rep emailed me a link but it was the same one that was on this site already for 183mb download. She even recommended I connect directly to the modem. I cannot because there is only 1 slot and the rest are covered DO NOT USE by COX CABLE. So I connected directly to the router. I reinstalled that and rebooted comp and opened TurboTax, proceeded to check out and still the same error. I even went to the online dropdown to check for updates and it still says it is updated. What now folks?
