If you are a US resident, you need to file Form 1040 with TurboTax. TurboTax also handles your Form 8938 tax form. You mentioned 1040 NR which is a form for US nonresident tax payers. If you are a US nonresident you cannot use TurboTax. However, we have a partnership with Sprintax who can help you if you must file a 1040NR.
To get to the 8938 section in TurboTax (requires Deluxe or higher):
- Open or continue your return if you're not already in it.
- Search for 8938 and select the Jump to link at the top of the search results.
- On the Foreign Financial Assets screen, select Yes, I have foreign financial assets.
