I spent a lot of time (as did others apparently) by viewing Turbo Tax help and community responses that had a sequence of steps to "trick" their program to accept and complete the 8606 form. It even on one response suggested deleting it altogether and thus be able to file. On the "Forms you need still need to file page" of my return it clearly listed that the 8606 would be available Feb 12, 2020. Now why doesn't their online support page just say to wait instead of giving an incorrect procedure that frustrates it's users? I called TT and the agent eventually admitted that it wasn't available until Feb 12. There is a conflict of information here and I do not think deleting the form is the way Turbo Tax users ought to be advised--that's why we buy the program which asks intelligent and easy questions to lead us through the process and end up with the correct forms.
