Sorry, but if you have multiple accounts, you cannot merge or delete them. I'm a fellow user, but I don't know of any plans to make that possible.
No, you do not have to make a new account each year. In fact you shouldn't create new ones. You just need to keep using the same one instead of starting yet another one. If you don't find it right away, when you return each year, we can tell you the way to find and regain access to the account.
