You’ll only receive a 1095-A if you purchased health insurance in 2019 through Healthcare.gov or your state’s Health Insurance Marketplace.
If the following applied to you or anyone on your taxes in 2019, they won't get a 1095-A:
- Enrolled in catastrophic coverage or a stand-alone dental plan
- Received Medicaid, Medicare, VA, CHIP, or other government-sponsored program
- Have employer-sponsored coverage
- Have a private health insurance plan
