Get your taxes done using TurboTax

No, you should not file without your 1099.  Your employer has until January 31, 2020, to provide you with your 1099.  If you try to file without the EIN you will receive an error message to provide the EIN and you will not be able to file your taxes until you enter the EIN.

Also, the IRS uses the EIN to reconcile what the employer reported you were paid vs what you report as being paid.

Although you have records to show what you have earned they may not match what your employer reported.  If you file without having the 1099 and the amount you report does not match what was reported by your employer you will receive a notice from the IRS about the mismatch.
