Designating $3 for the Presidential Election Campaign Fund doesn't affect your tax liability or your refund, but you can say "no" if you wish.
To remove the $3 designation for the Presidential Election Campaign Fund:
- Continue working on your return in TurboTax Online. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)
- Click Tax Tools (lower left side of your screen).
- Select Tools (under Tax Tools).
- In the pop-up window, select Topic Search.
- In the I'm looking for: box, type presidential.
- In the results box, scroll down and highlight presidential election campaign fund, then click GO.
- You'll land on Do you want to designate $3 to a presidential campaign fund? (Click the screenshot below to enlarge it for reference.) Select No and click Continue.
