Sorry, but no you can't. With an extension your return is due by Oct 15th. If you file after that date then:
- If you owe the IRS taxes you will be assessed interest, fines and penalties.
- If you will have a refund due, then no interest, fines and penalties are assessed for anything.
So if you filed your extension prior to Apr 15th and overpaid any estimated dates due on or before that date, you'll be fine.
