Can I do my Estate 1041 without the 1099 forms if I have the income data to enter? Do you know if most organizations will provide 1099s for an estate mid-year? I can figure most of the income from the final statements.
You do not need 1099 forms to file a return; you can enter the information (income) from the forms if you have the figures. Most organizations (firms) will not send out 1099s until calendar year end, anyway.
However, be aware that you may have to amend if there is a discrepancy in what you have reported on your return and the 1099s (when you receive them).
