Sole proprietor getting married
My partner is a sole proprieter. I work with them as an independent contractor (self employed).
We are getting maried next month and will be filing joint taxes in illinois for the 2019 tax year.
We are unsure if the business needs to be changed to an LLC or if it can be left as is? I dont work for him, just in the same space with him, but technically i am working within the business.
How do we proceed with this for the next return?
