Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Shewmj. I am running the same CD Version (Home & Business) on a Mac, too. So we appear to be in a similar situation. For the record, I am self employed and paid my full 2018 estimated tax obligation to the IRS/State by applying my 2017 refund when I filed my taxes last year. I did not pay any quarterly estimated taxes, as there was no need to. Sure enough, when I finished working on my 2018 taxes, TT showed I was entitled to a substantial refund. But like so many others, my return was rejected because TT incorrectly generated a 2210 with Box A checked, which thus required the '85% WAIVER' Explanation. Of course, I couldn't attach it. So I e-filed and the returns were quickly rejected. Consequently, I tried the various workarounds suggested by others here without success. Until yesterday. I haven't filed my taxes (and may still wait until the purported 3/8 fix to do so), but was finally able to eliminate the 2210 by doing the following: Click on Other Tax Situations on the TT Toolbar (it's below (State Taxes and Review); Click on Additional Tax Payments; Click on Underpayment Penalty; Click Yes beneath "Do you want to review..."; under Possible Penalty Exception on the next screen, click 'Yes to all Questions." On the following screen, it says "No Underpayment Penalty." Upon doing so, I returned to Forms and clicked on 2210. In my case, the 'X' on Box A disappeared as did the typed in "85% Waiver' in the space at the end of the wording on Box A. From there, I created a PDF of the printout to be e-filed with the IRS. Form 2210 was no longer included (also for the record, I have never, ever had to file form 2210). This is what worked for me. Best of luck.
