Get your taxes done using TurboTax

This should be an easy fix- You do not input FLI and SUI as combined on a W2 entry.

If your employer combined FLI and SUI on a W2, that is simply bad W2 preparation. But you should still do the math. It doesn't mean you overpaid any of those taxes.

Is the combined entry on your W2 for SUI/ FLI at or under $165? Break out the two components to the best of your ability. (FLI cap is $26, SUI is $139) In box 14 of your W2 entry, use separate dropdowns for these taxes.

Turbo Tax does show a refund when multiple employers go over the limit (this is very common, and does not disallow efile). Form NJ- 2450 is completed, and you are refunded the excess from your 2 or more employers directly on your NJ tax return.

If one employer exceeds the statutory limit for any of the 3 taxes, this cannot be refunded on your taxes. You have to contact that employer. (Its similar to when a single employer withholds too much Social Security tax) Having one employer exceed the limit is itself extremely uncommon.

UI- $139

FLI- $26

DI-$65

If multiple employers exceed the cap above. Turbo Tax will complete Form NJ-2450 without any problems.
