If you have not paid
for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or
registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with
a lower priced edition. Click on Tax
Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2017 online
tax return. Click on Clear & Start
Over. But keep in mind Free Edition is
an online-only product that handles simple 1040EZ and 1040A returns with the
standard deduction. It's designed for filers who:
- Made less than $100,000
- Don't own a home or rental
property
- Didn't sell investments
- Don't own a business or have
1099-MISC income
- Don't have any major medical
expenses
If your 2017 income
only came from wages, Social Security, or interest and you don't have many (or
any) deductions, TurboTax Free Edition is the way to go.
