Get your taxes done using TurboTax

I am sorry for your loss. Yes. If he passed in 2017 you can also still file married filing jointly. All the tax forms would go on that one return. You will be able to choose which forms belong to who. You are considered married the entire year that a spouse passes away. You also may be eligible to use Qualifying Widow(er) with dependent child as your filing status for 2 years following the year your spouse died as long as you have not remarried. This treats your return as a joint return and you can get a higher standard deduction. Let me know if you need more help.

The Federal Free Edition supports Simple tax returns (1040EZ/1040A): https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/

We also have a Tax Freedom Edition which allows you to file more complicated returns but you must have an AGI less than $33,000: https://turbotax.intuit.com/taxfreedom/
