Some of the exemptions can be filed
directly from the return and some need to go through the Marketplace to receive an exemption certificate number.
When you fill out the Health Section
in TurboTax, if you select that insurance was unaffordable, TurboTax
will fill out a Form 8965, Health Coverage Exemptions, for your
return. This exemption may be claimed
directly on your tax return and does not require an exemption certificate from
the Marketplace.
