Unfortunately, no.
You can transfer your previous year (2018)desktop TurboTax return into a current year (2019) TurboTax online return, but not the current year desktop return.
You can do the reverse -- you can download your current year tax file to the desktop version and finish it there. To do this, please follow these steps:
- Sign in to your TurboTax account. You will be on your Tax Home screen.
- Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents.
- Select 2019 (if it's not already highlighted).
- Select Download .tax file. The file with automatically download.
- Your online return will be found in the Downloads folder on your computer.
- To open the return in TurboTax desktop edition, click on the Find a Tax File link on the opening screen and then navigate to the Downloads folder.
