My spouse and I work together as a team (independent contractors) doing deliveries for companies like Grubhub and Uber Eats. What's the best way to file our taxes?
We are married filing jointly in California. Part of our earnings comes from his 1099's, and part from my 1099's. How do we declare our earnings? Do we add up all our 1099's and equally split the amount between us two? And do we also split all our expenses and create our own Schedule C's? I am concerned that we might get flagged because our earnings won't match our individual 1099's because we have combined everything as a married couple operating a business (private contractor) in California?
