My son, 19, joined the National Guard and attended basic and AIT school. He will start college in January. Can I claim him as a dependent on this year's taxes?
Does the Advanced Individual Training school count toward being in school, per tax purposes? If I cannot claim him, will I be able to claim him as a dependent once he starts school in January?
