Free Edition is free as long as you file a 1040EZ (or 1040A with the standard deduction) and don't select any add-ons or upgrades.
- The fees you are charged will depend on
any add-ons you may have selected when completing your return, such
as the Refund Processing fee. You might have also upgraded to a more
full-featured version or added a state.
