Get your taxes done using TurboTax
This is mainly a user community forum, not TurboTax Support, so we can't see your Support Ticket.
I have no idea why a Support agent mentioned an online account when you had the desktop CD product. A desktop return does not use an online account, and a copy of a desktop return is not stored in an online account. All the tax files are stored locally on the computer.
A PDF file created by TurboTax should be readable on any computer that has a PDF viewer such as Adobe Reader or similar, and can be transferred by jump drive normally without a problem, unless the file is somehow corrupted. What happens when you try to view the PDF? Perhaps that can be fixed.
Otherwise, all of your tax return info is stored in the *.tax2016 data file. If you had that, it can normally be easily moved from computer to computer to open in the 2016 desktop software. But unfortunately, you said you don't have that file.
I don't know how long it's been since you filed. Your 2016 tax return transcript may or may not be ready yet. But you can download a free tax return transcript at this IRS website. Or can order one there to come by mail in 5-10 calendar days.

A full copy of the actual return from the IRS costs $50 and takes several weeks.
