Get your taxes done using TurboTax

You can be claimed as a dependent if:

1) You are under age 24 - I assume that you are.

2) You are a full time student - you are,

3) You lived at home - you did,

4) You did NOT pay more than half of your own support for the year. - That is questionable.

Who pays for your education and educational expenses?   If you do and have student loans in your name then  that counts as support that YOU supply.

You need to use the IRS work sheet 3-1 in Pub 17 to determine support.  It might be close.  If the 20K (and you use it for support) plus student loans are more then 1/2 of your support then your parents cannot claim you.
