I am going to get a 1099 on the sell. The only reason I wanted to know if I will be taxed on it regardless of weather I gift it to my wife or not is because I won't be able to give it all to her. I figure I will owe about 16,000 to the irs. We live on a fixed income and I won't be able to come up with that kind of money, so I will have to keep at least that much if I figured right.
