To create a Form 1099-MISC in TurboTax Self-Employed:
- Open (continue) your return in TurboTax Self-Employed. (If your return isn't open, you'll need to sign in and click Take me to my return.)
- Click the drop-down arrow next to Tax Tools (lower left of your screen).
- Select Tools.
- In the pop-up window, select Topic Search.
- In the I'm looking for: box, type create.
- In the results box, highlight create form 1099-misc or w-2, then click GO.
- You'll land on the W-2/1099 Reporter screen. Click the Start here link to access TurboTax Quick Employer Forms and follow the onscreen instructions. (Click the screenshots below to enlarge them for reference.)
