You can upgrade within the program and only pay the difference in price.
- Open your return in TurboTax.
- Click Upgrade TurboTax, which is usually located near the top of your screen (if you don't see it, you'll find it along the bottom).
- In the new window, select the version you'd like to upgrade to and click Upgrade Now. (Or No Thanks to close the window.)
- Follow the onscreen instructions to submit payment for the upgrade.
