I received a lump sum of social security benefits for 2015 and 2016 this year (2016). However, my disability insurance required me to repay them 10,000 of the social security money for benefits they paid me in 2015. So, I have already paid taxes in 2015 on that 10,000 when I reported it as income from my insurance. How do I get it deducted from my SS taxable income for this year? (My insurance has only provided me with a letter stating that I paid it.)
