You can report your royalties from your gas well interest following the steps below.
The instructions here will take you to your Form 1099-MISC entry screens.
- Sign into your TurboTax Account - online
- Select My Account in the upper right, then Tools
- Select Topic Search (image attached)
- Search for 1099misc, then Go
- Continue to enter your information
When using the TurboTax desktop version use these steps:
- Select the Federal Taxes tab
- Select Wages & Income
- Scroll to 1099-MISC and Other Common Income

Select Income from Form 1099-MISC
- Start to complete the entry of your form (image attached for review)
- Continue to follow the program to enter any expenses
