I worked abroad in 2016, NOT for a US company.I'm a US citizen with 1 kid.Do I need to file taxes? If so, can I use turbotax to file taxes?

I'm married, don't own a home or rental property.  I lived in New Zealand in 2016 and worked for a NZ institution. Which turbotax version would be best?
