My father in law passed away in 2016 and my wife has been appointed as personal representative of the estate. She was told she needed to file form 1310 by April 15, 2017. The extate has not closed before the end of 2017. Does she file a 2017 form 1310 or wait until 2018 and file once the estate has closed?
