Print out a copy of your prior year return and compare it to this year return. It is really almost impossible to have the exact same situation as last year as (1) certain deductions are automatically adjusted each year like the exemption and standard deduction; (2) just being on year older can increase your standard deduction if you are 65, it can cause you to no longer be able to claim a child tax credit if the kid turned 17; lose the ability to use the child and dependent care credit if your child is 13' (3) EIC limits are adjusted, etc, etc....Print out a copy of your prior year return and then in your current year return click on the My Account link, then tools, then on view tax summary and finally on Preview my 1040 and compare the number. Many times people think that just because you choose the same allowances on your W-4 that this is enough to get the same refund, but that is not the case.  if your income increase you may be in a higher tax bracket and did not withhold at the proper rate.  If your income increased or decreased your EIC could change., etc etc along with a host of other things
