That is correct. If you have been issued an IP Pin from the IRS, it must be entered on the tax return before you will be able to e-file the return. To enter the 6 digit number in TurboTax,
- Open your return if you don't already have it open.
- Inside TurboTax, search for IP PIN (don't forget the space) and then select the Jump to link in the search results.
- On the Identity Protection PIN screen, answer Yes and enter your IP PIN in the space provided. Make sure to indicate the correct person the PIN relates to.
- Select Continue.
- Re-submit your tax return; this time it will not reject.
