I work out of town & am paid food allowance reported w/ my wages on 1099. I keep up w/ receipts & do not have to turn these in. Can i deduct 100% or 50% of food expense?

i travel working on different out of town jobs with a subcontracting crew and receive a 1099 for my wages. i receive an allowance for food and gas for each job i go on and keep up with my receipts but do not have to turn these receipts in and may actually use more or less than i am given. My food and gas allowance is reported as part of my wages on my 1099 making it look like i was paid much more when that was really money i used for meals and gas. Can i not deduct 100% of my meals then?
