You shouldn't be filing as Head of Household. When youre married, you file Married Jointly.
You each get a $4050 deduction from income for 2016, that is already done automatically. This is not a refunded amount, or an amount applied toward taxes, it reduces your income.
If your income and withholdings (and itemized deductions, if this applies to you) are similar to last year, but your end result if noticeably different, you would want to compare this years return against last years return, line for line and see where the differences are.
