There is one limited exception, but it doesn't apply because your dependent also has a W-2: Alaskans who receive Permanent Fund dividends get a special 1099-MISC from the state (not Box 7, so no SE tax); that, along with interest (1099-INT) & dividends (1099-DIV), can be reported on your return if they're your dependent's ONLY income. (Even then it's not advisable.) Since your dependent has a W-2, they should file their own tax return.
