From what I read for NYS, if it's a private company that paid the PFL then you receive a 1099-MISC instead of a 1099-G (from government). I received a 1099-MISC from Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co for my PFL. I have tried researching and answering the Turbo Tax questions many times for the 1099-MISC section, but I continue to receive a notification for "Needs Review" every time. It seems as though the 1099-MISC on Turbo Tax isn't currently set up to do 1099-MISC for PFL.
