The comments above about fraud are spot on. Some folks "misstate" their income, and then it doesn't match when the IRS receives the W-2. The delay is partly due to the time required to match the W-2 forms against the tax returns. Consider changing your withholding so that you do not have to wait for a refund at tax time.
