Not married, filing separately, but both listed on a 1099-INT for a joint checking account?

My significant other and I are not married and are filing separately, but received a 1099-INT from the bank where we opened a joint checking account last year (the bank offered a bonus for opening a checking account and setting up direct deposit, which is the full amount reported).  The 1099-INT is addressed to <my name> OR <his name>, and lists my SSN.  Do just I report it on my taxes, or does he need to as well?  Or do we split the amount between our two filings?
