Get your taxes done using TurboTax

(Edited 02/012017 0557 PT)

If they (e.g. Uber, Lyft)  are reporting your gross ride-share revenue on Form 1099-K (or 1099-MISC) but not their "fees", you can report the fees they charge as a "Commissions" expense (if using TurboTax Home & Business).

Here are the steps to navigate to that interview in TurboTax Home & Business:  Business > Business Income and Expenses > Profit or Loss from Business > Your Business > Business Expenses > Other Common Business expenses > "Commissions"

If you are using 2016 TurboTax Deluxe or Premier, you will not be able to claim an expense for these fees.
