It won't matter if you said you own a home in the initial interview. That question is there so that the program will ask you questions about possible deductions for homeowners. If you don't claim any deductions for owning a home, it won't matter.
If you said you own a home when you were preparing your state return, that should be corrected if you are claiming a state tenant credit or homestead credit
