If your post is for a return that has already been filed, accepted and processed by the IRS, you're done. Why are you asking this now? If it's because you're getting a 1099-MISC for 2017 for the same kind of work you did in 2016, then as far as the IRS is concerned, you earned that money while in business for yourself and it "is" self-employment income. You and I have no say in the matter.
