Here's what you'll need to do:
In the Personal Information section, you will enter your husband's ITIN in this area. His ITIN is what must appear on the tax return.
However, when you fill in his W2 information, there will be a spot for you to enter the SSN that appears on his W2. It is important that you put that number there, or else you will probably have an e-file reject.
What happens is that the IRS creates a file that matches your husband's ITIN with this Social he's been using. That way, they know that the income he reports under his ITIN that was reported to this Social actually belongs to him.
