The answer to your question is that this should not adversely impact the filing of your current-year California (or federal) income tax return. In other words, simply use the W-2 that you currently have to file this year's tax return, as long as the actual wage and withholding numbers are correct. An address printed on your W-2 that is different than the primary mailing address you indicate on your personal tax return is not any problem. People move all of the time and change addresses. The government recognizes and allows for that fact.
To have the address changed for next year's W-2, however, if you still have the same employer, then it is recommended you contact your payroll or human resources office and make such a request.
