Can I get money back if I overpaid for the health insurance penalty?

I received a letter from my state health connect stating I was uninsured for 6 months out of the year. I filed my taxes in early February and after receiving my tax refund I received a letter from the health connect stating my Medicaid insurance had backdated, meaning I was only uninsured for 3 months, not 6. I paid close to $300 in uninsured penalties so getting the ~$180 back that I overpaid would be very helpful right now. Do I need to file a new return or an amendment? Thanks!
