Unfortunately, whoever told you that at Medicaid has no idea what they are talking about. It is not a tax question, but a Medicaid eligibility question. You may need to ask for a Supervisor.
However, I am familiar with the Medicaid rules *IF* you live in a State that has fully expanded Medicaid. What State do you live in?
