There seems to be a problem with the TurboTax online instructions regarding the need to fill out IRS form 14039 (Identity Theft Affidavit). The instruction states: if you've EVER been a victim
– or suspect
you've been a victim of identify theft – you need to fill out this form. According to an IRS phone conversation on April 25, 2018 this form applies to the current tax year.
