Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Note that we cannot see your return nor the screen you are on, but I am going to make a guess and say that you are wondering if you can enter the amount with code DD in box 12 on the W-2 as a deduction in some state.

If the state has a deduction for health insurance premiums (as some do), note that these deductions are normally for premiums paid with after-tax dollars.

The code DD amount is pre-tax, that is, it has been removed from Wages on your W-2 before it was printed. This is why you don't see a deduction on Schedule A for these premiums - they were never in your income in the first place.

So in the cases I know of concerning code DD, you should not enter that amount in a state interview.

If this does not address your situation, then please make a new post here on AnswerXchange, this time giving the form you are talking about and the state (if one).
